MCS means Moisture Control System. It was invented by the Burlington Company in the USA and comprises a family of polyamide- and polyester fabrics with sustained hydrophilic properties. Hydrophilic means water-attracting. In practice, this means that MCS actively transports moisture from perspiration away from the skin and distributes it over as wide an area as possible, to allow it to evaporate rapidly. MCS Blocker is a fabric with long-lasting UV protection, thanks to the fineness of the yarn and the compactness of the weave. The well-known MCS fabric now also has an average SPF (Sun Protection Factor) of 30. The wearer therefore enjoys 30 times longer protection from the sun. (For comparison: a white T-shirt protects the skin from harmful UV rays at factor 10). MCS Blocker retains its properties even when wet. Uses: an absolute must for all outdoor travelling and sports in the sun. |
